Researchers at Cardiff Metropolitan University are developing a resource which will lead to the production of standardised tests to measure literacy in Welsh. The new resource is called Golwg Fanwl ar Lythrennedd, or GoFaL, which translates as ‘a close look at literacy.’ The aim is to put tools into the hands of teachers and other literacy practitioners to be able to take a closer look at the reading and writing skills of young people, in Welsh, and also to look at the skills that underpin literacy - phonological skills, processing and fluency.
The age range of tests is 11.0 - 16.0
