TRAINING FOR READERS, SCRIBES, INVIGILATORS AND OTHER ADULT HELPERS IN EXAMS  1 hour

The JCQ regulations state: ‘The head of centre must ensure that readers, scribes etc (and invigilators) are appropriately trained and understand the rules of the access arrangement as detailed in these regulations.’  This training course is for Teaching Assistants and other adults supporting candidates as e.g. readers/scribes, in examinations for General Qualifications (GCSE, GCE, FS, KS etc) including invigilators. During this short presentation, which includes video, audio and PowerPoint, Caroline explains the regulations, helping staff to understand how their role in the classroom differs from the role in the exam.

This online course is designed to be administered in one of two ways.
1. Ideally a group of adults who will be acting as readers, scribes or supporting students in other ways with their access
arrangements will be able to access the course together at the same time. For this we recommend that you use a digital
projector and large screen with speakers to amplify the presentation.
2. Alternatively, individual staff members can access the course on a PC with headphones. Please note that due to the
login requirements it is only possible for one person to be accessing the course at one time using this method.

You will have 10 days from the start date you choose to login and view the course- you can run the course as many times as
you want within this 10 day period, and there is not a maximum number of delegates for the total course fee of £50 (Early
Bird rate)/ £60 (Standard rate).

All delegates must all be from your school or college, you can’t use the course to train staff from other centres.

We do not provide certificates for delegates attending this course.
